What Edwin Leschhorn has to say about his Leak Detector

Here I was in Fiji, far from the rest of the world and 35 feet underwater during a night dive, when I saw a very bright red light blinking inside my housing. What the heck is that? I thought. I quickly realized it was the Underwater Leak Detector I had just bought and installed prior to this trip. I had a leak in my housing! No!!!
I quickly folded my strobe arms and headed to the surface while trying to keep the camera horizontal. Once back on the boat and with the light still blinking like a beacon of doom, I opened the housing and saw a very small amount of water just around the leak sensor strip at the bottom of the housing. I pulled the camera off the housing and… it was fine. Hurray! The Underwater Leak Detector had saved it. It turns out the factory o-ring on the zoom knob was a little too loose and leaked after using it a lot (hey, it was Fiji!). I removed the o-ring, lubed it with silicon and was back in the water the next morning. Thanks Jeff!
