What Terry Chrisafis thinks about his Leak Detector
In 2010 I ordered a leak detector from Jeff Mullins and found out he would be in Bali the same time we were going over to dive in Tulamben. When we arrived I called him and he came over to our hotel room, I gave him my Nexus D300 underwater housing and he came back in a few hours with a custom made leak detector already in my housing.
The very next day we were getting ready to go diving and I put my housing in the fresh water rinse tub, while I donned my dive gear.
When I went to pull my housing out of the tub, I saw that the Leak Detector was flashing inside the housing! I quickly pulled the housing out of the tub and opened it up and sure enough there was a minor amount of water in the housing. Luckily it was only fresh water and did not affect the camera. I hadn't secured the port correctly!
So for such a small investment, it saved me thousands. I have since bought another Leak Detector just as a back-up. This is the best investment I have made in my underwater photography equipment. I tell everyone I know about this. Terry Chrisafis - Australia, Nikon D300 in Nexus Housing
